Schneider Earns Distinction as First American to be honored by ProShare
New York, NY – December 11, 2019 – Carine Schneider, President of AST Private Company Solutions, has received the “Service to Employee Share Ownership” honor at the 2019 ProShare Award Dinner, announced on December 4th in London. The award marks the first time in 27 years a person outside of the UK was presented with the distinction. The ProShare award recognizes individuals who have, over the course of their careers, made a significant contribution to the share plans industry and employee share ownership.
Ms. Schneider was nominated for her three decades of devoted experience as a global contributor to the employee share plans industry and as founder of the industry group Global Equity Organization (GEO). At AST, she has continued to focus on this area with an emphasis on advisory for private and pre-IPO companies. Meanwhile GEO has grown to include more than 6,000 members worldwide. Ms. Schneider was recently recognized as Chair Emeritus and was inducted as a Fellow of Global Equity (FGE) earlier this year.
“Carine has been one of our industry’s most passionate, tireless and persuasive advocates for almost thirty years,” said Gabbi Stopp, the Executive Director of ProShare. “In founding GEO, she set the tone for collaboration from the outset that we are all stronger together, both within GEO and, most importantly, as a valuable partner with other organizations like ProShare. Her achievement is very much on the global stage and her enthusiasm and genius for connecting and empowering like-minded people across this industry is to be cherished and admired.”
“I’m deeply honored to be recognized by ProShare and by my industry peers at one of the key events dedicated to employee share plans which acknowledges excellence and innovation in the industry,” said Schneider of the award. “It brings me great pride to share my work with other industry-leading companies and thought leaders who are delivering winning strategies around participant ownership plans.”
The award nominations are considered by the Executive Director of ProShare and the Director of Policy of The Chartered Governance Institute, with additional input from the Awards Judging Panel. They are typically awarded to executives and companies based in the United Kingdom, including RBS, EasyJet, Royal Mail and Rolls Royce.
